Is there an anti-bullying policy in place at the school?

At Holy Family we believe that all members of the community have the right to a learning and working environment free from intimidation, humiliation and harm.  We all share a responsibility to create a culture of caring which will not tolerate bullying.  We believe that bullying must be taken seriously and is not acceptable in any form.  In witnessing Christian values we reject ideas, beliefs and behaviours which marginalize or victimize people.

Do you have organised after school care?

From where can I purchase the school uniform?

The Lowes store in Minto Marketplace has taken over the selling of our summer and winter school uniform and our sport uniform. This is an excellent outcome for our families as the store in Minto is a much more convenient location. Don’t forget that Lowes offers an online ordering option.

It is important that you purchase all uniform items from the Lowes store in Minto Marketplace so that we have the consistency of uniform we are striving to achieve.

How does the canteen operate?

The Canteen is open for children on Tuesday - Friday.  If parents wish their child to buy recess or lunch from the Canteen, please write the child’s name, room number and what is required on a paper bag and include correct money if possible.  The children place orders in the class lunch order box and this is taken to the Canteen each day.

Our school community is committed to providing high quality, healthy and nutritious food at reasonable prices.

Volunteer helpers strive to serve our school community to the best of their ability.  We always welcome any new ideas or suggestions and parental input is appreciated.

Volunteers are always needed to operate our canteen.

If you can help, please contact our school office.

Thank you for supporting our school canteen.

Will I be able to come and help in the classroom?

Yes, each grade will be different, but parents often participate and contribute in the classroom.  This could include helping with reading and literacy programs, mathematics groups, technology, craft, or by offering expertise in a particular area of interest, such as Indigenous Education or Music. Parents are encouraged to help with Grade Sport and Cross Country.

How can I / we become involved in the life of the school community?

Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their children’s education at Holy Family.  Ways you can help in your child’s classroom are listed above.  Other ways of becoming involved are volunteering to help in the canteen, attending special days and events such as school liturgies or performances, helping at special events such as sporting carnivals and working bees. All are invited to become members of the Parents and Friends Committee, who work collaboratively with the school and parish community about matters regarding quality education for all children, and general issues about school life, including social events, fundraising and finances.
